When a person or country determines that an enemy needs to be defeated, they do everything in their power to destroy their enemy. Though the person or country may have initially had righteous intentions, they are destined to compromise any honorable purpose, thus becoming the enemy. Or perhaps they and we always were and always are the enemy.
